Sri Lanka Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates.

Sri Lanka Government is officially offering the translated Birth Certificates or Marriage Certificates or Death Certificates in Tamil, English and Sinhala languages. To get this translations you must visit the Register General office at Battaramulla. The staffs are very friendly and they offer cordial service. You can reach there from Colombo Fort very easily using the public transport service on any given official working day. The office is closed on public holidays, Saturdays, Sundays and Poya days.
Getting the Birth Certificate or Marriage Certificate or Death Certificate translated in to another language through the Government of Sri Lanka by the Register General office at the Head Office.

Here is some necessary information.
The Head Office of The Register General's Office is located at Dencil Kobbekaduwa Mawatha, 100 Meters distance from the Pannipitiya Road and Dencil Kobbekaduwa Mawatha cross junction.
Documents you will need to get the translations.
You need to submit the following documents to get the required translation.

1. Original copy of the Birth, Marriage or Death Certificate.
2. Get the application form from the office and fill it duly.
3. Self addressed envelop (4.5 X 9 Inc) with Un-cancelled postal stamp, If you wish to receive the document by post

Fees for the Translation.
Each translation copy will be changed at the rate of Rs 100/-; you can apply for amy number of copies with same application form.
Normally the translated documents can be collected personally within 3 working days from the Register General office.
