Canada to start finger printing visitors (biometric).

Canada to finger prints anyone applying for a work or study permit, regardless whether they need a visa, such as Americans and Europeans. It is expected to be fully implemented between 2011 and 2013, starting with certain countries. The Canadian Government is ready to spend $12.1 million on this program. The program is to increase their capacity to know who is in Canada at a particular point in time.

Tourists and business travelers who want to visit Canada and are required visas to enter Canada will be among those who will be fingerprinted under the next phase of the government's biometric program according to the Government officials.

Short-term visitors to Canada who wouldn't be fingerprinted are tourists and business travelers from those countries which don't require a visa..
